I have been in the digital/interactive industry for the past 8 years. At age 18, I formed and marketed my own business, an eBay auction consignment company, Even the Kitchen Sink. I designed and developed the website as well as launched an interactive marketing campaign. Shortly after, my company received local press and within one month turned a profit. I managed the company throughout school and essentially put myself through college. I graduated with honors at the University of North Carolina from the Kenan-Flagler Business School ranked No. 5 among U.S. public and private universities.
Upon graduation I moved to Los Angeles to fill a position with a, Television Entertainment Firm whose show was featured weekly on the Travel Channel. My team and I revolutionized the interactive business of the company by taking the company from a 10 page static site to a robust and dynamic web experience. In this transformation site traffic increased 102% and email registrations doubled.
In 2007, I pursued an opportunity to fulfill a role in a Music/Entertainment Concert Production Company. The company is looking to roll out a completely re-vamped website. With the credentials for success in the interactive division, I was brought on to manage the efforts for their re-design which is estimated to be a $20 million dollar revenue generating project.
Mid-2008, while still a full time employee within the interactive/digital world, I launched C Mikel Designs to enter the world of freelance website and graphic design. Over the past few months I have built/designed several websites complete with graphic elements, SEO and widgets. I can also reccomend hosting services and provide lessons on how to navigate the control panel.
